Hoverman: Underlying Story

Whilst the other Awkward Avengers stare at hot female superheroes as they walk by and try not to get caught gawking at their all powerful "assets", Hoverman has his sights set on one specific superhero. Her name; Gypsy Woman. This was not a name given to her by choice of course, she originally went by...well that's not important. What's important is that her useless superpower is revealing horoscopes for those in need. Hoverman does not want to reveal that this is the female he wants to be part of the Awkward Avengers because she comes from the planet known as Oblivion. A planet that most Superheroes don't waste their time with because, well to be honest; shit don't make sense up there. This is a planet which is under the control of the evil and influential beast known as The Hipster. The Hipster is always one step ahead (mainly when it comes to fashion) and has the useless superpower of peer pressure. This villainous beast even has an assistant known as Philosophon who has the power of confusion with big medusa-like hair, but with not-so-threatening blowfish instead of snakes...Anywho, being as vague as she is, Hoverman knows that Gypsy Woman has the power and the "Oh no you dih'unt" attitude that the Awkward Avengers need in order to defeat the Villainous Racecard at his game. He just needs to figure out a way to bring the forces of these two planets together to form the ultimate alliance.

Hoverman and The Awkward Avengers

One caffeine driven morning while sitting with some friends during their breakfast and talking about what we were going to do with our lives after college, we came up with an idea. Being as intimidating a subject as it is, the real world is not something that we can just let fall by the wayside anymore. It was rapidly approaching. It was time we joined forces! With my artistic and animation skills, and Arslan's computer science skills, we came up with the idea to create a video game (IF we end up going nowhere with our majors, of course). THUS, Hoverman and The Awkward Avengers were born!
HOVERMAN (loosely based on myself) with the power to hover exactly one-inch above the ground. He is somewhat of a reserved superhero, thus making social situations his one and only weakness. However, give him even the smallest amount of caffeine and WATCH THE FUCK OUT!
SIDESTEP (loosely based on Arslan "Mohammad" Afzal) with the power to sidestep to the left. A very suave and sneaky character, and the only one of The Awkward Avengers clan of color. What color you ask? That's right; brown. Weaknesses include sidestepping to the right and walking forward.
GLOWBOY (loosely based on Matthew Huber) with the awesome power of glowing in the dark. This superhero is just beaming with confidence (GET IT?!). Things become complicated though on a cloudy day and Glowboy can't charge up...Which I guess is actually beneficial to the rest of the team if they're ever in a situation where they must avoid being seen at night...
Anywho...These are the The Awkward Avengers! Their mission? To defeat the villainous Racecard from making social situations even more awkward than they are with his unappreciated racist comments, get a girl, and make a name for themselves in this complicated world full of "real" superheroes.
Other awkward superheroes include: The Impressionist, Secret Asian Man, The Healthnut, Lazyboy (real identity; Steve), Superego, and The Vet.
Think I might make these characters make mundane, everyday situations into bigger deals than they actually are. For example: Hoverman goes to get his cup of coffee for the day, but is first forced to face El Barista (new possible villain). Not an easy task first thing every morning but it is a worthwhile payoff.

Feel free to comment with more awkward ideas that you may have!
